For me, Tony Blair was the acceptable face of Socialism. When elected he made a very deliberate promise. He said, "We will govern as New Labour". Labour had to reinvent themselves because he knew Old Labour would have never been elected. Remember Michael Foot and Neil Kinnock when Gordon Brown (OUR DEAR LEADER) finally pushed Tony Blair out with the help of some of his left wing cronies (WHO ARE NOW MINISTERS) and became prime minister. It was:-
New Labour in the bin, all left hands on deck, hard to port and back to their true Old Labour beliefs, Left wing Socialism and I believe their unspoken policy is :-
Control the masses or as John Prescott would say, control the proletariat.
Socialists don't like free thinkers, especially free thinkers with money. They have increased public sector employment and increased dependency on the state, with public money of course. When people are totally dependant on the state its possible they may vote Labour. They will offer continuity of employment and of course the all important Public Money pay cheques. Labour have also sought to control the system wherever and when ever possible. They have promoted and encouraged the light touch economic conditions that has caused the Capitalist system to fail and blamed everybody or anybody for the collapse. Their aim? To take advantage and control the means of distribution.
Labour have spent fortunes on bank acquisitions and advertising, they have run down the armed forces and taken steps to get rid of our Nuclear Deterrent. Labour will say we can no longer afford it and we will have to significantly reduce our Nuclear capability. Labour have continually paid lip service to the real economy and made unachievable long term promises that cannot and will not be kept. They have used any means including political connivance and lies to achieve their goal. Total political power within a Socialist state, they haven't got there yet. If, as expected, Labour fail to get re elected they will simply say we did our best and leave a total mess for the next Government to sort out, do Labour really care? NO.
Gordon Brown and co are on track and in the process of creating yet another false economy, taxation receipts are down, they have had to borrow heavily to keep the public money machine going, pay for bank acquisitions, fulfil their overseas aid promises and pay for spiralling expenses, its not long now before we have the most important General Election in our history (THANK GOD FOR DEMOCRACY) and the moral of this story is:-
If you give Socialists access to power and money they will without doubt SPEND THE MONEY and use their POWER to control us.
PS I believe the system by which MPs are remunerated for their expenses is corrupt and corrupting, having said that, you can only corrupt the corruptible.
